How can Eskom 2.0 succeed if government couldn't run Eskom 1.0, SAA, Denel, and Transnet?

Think about running 2 Eskoms like running 2 rival taxi unions! Would it be called Eskom wars too?

How can it succeed? Easy 5 step process...
1. Appoint a competent board irrespective of race, gender and political connections.
2. Give them enough resources to build a proper power station.
3. Allow the board to appoint a CEO that is competent irrespective of Race, gender or political alliances.
4. Exempt the newly formed company from AA and BBBEE requirements.
5. Do not get involved in the running of the business at all.

Will it work? Most definitely... Wil it happen? Not a chance...

They are running Eskom great, for the ANC. ANC > SA and they are making money for themselves. It was never intended for Eskom to serve SA, it was always intended to serve the ANC at the detriment of SA - a great ANC success!

Energy expert Chris Yelland does not believe that forming a second power utility to compete with Eskom is a viable solution to the country's energy problems

Don't need an expert........a 10 year old could tell you that.
Even the lower "MyBB experts" could have said it:laugh:

Ramaphosa's Eskom 2.0 plan — from a country that can't run SAA, Transnet, Denel, or Eskom 1.0

Energy expert Chris Yelland does not believe that forming a second power utility to compete with Eskom is a viable solution to the country's energy problems.

In an interview with Business Day TV, Yelland explained that the only possible solution to South Africa's energy crisis is rapidly building new renewable energy sources.
The inspiration behind the president's idea was a meme he saw on someone's whatsapp status...

“Let me say that it doesn’t take two years to build 10 gigawatts of solar PV. A country like Vietnam, with a GDP per capita much less than South Africa, installed nine gigawatts in one year,” Yelland stated.
Silly Yelland, TIA, which means cadres, tenders, tendererers... so, 10 gigawatts is a good 40 year 10 trillion rand project

Eskom 2.0 is a lifeline to the many cadres, tenderpreneurs, ANC acolytes who have been looking for the next big thing. Unless 2.0 is strictly privatised, there is little chance that it will succeed.

Are you implying that Greedy Mantashe has a lower IQ than a 10 year old?

You are all approaching this with the wrong mindset.
You have to start somewhere.
The first and most important question is, how to sort a new set of couches, and then obviously, how to fill them up.
With these questions in mind, eskom 2.0 makes allot of sense.

It cannot succeed because the whole freaking problem is the state (ANC) will still be in control of things.

The ANC has unequivocally proven that it cannot plan, manage or run anything. It will be corrupted, it will be inefficient and it will fail, at further cost to the country.

Nothing will work with the state (ANC) at the center of it.
