How can Eskom 2.0 succeed if government couldn't run Eskom 1.0, SAA, Denel, and Transnet?

You are all approaching this with the wrong mindset.
You have to start somewhere.
The first and most important question is, how to sort a new set of couches, and then obviously, how to fill them up.
With these questions in mind, eskom 2.0 makes allot* of sense.
*a lot

Rest of the world making historic leaps in science, computing, engineering, medicine and astronomy etc. Africa still fighting poverty, crime, disease and of course corruption. Why is there such a great gap and divide?
Maybe on your planet. Here on Earth the majority of the world is still fighting poverty, crime, disease and corruption.

Yeah, you don't seem to get the point, whilst these issues do exist to a lesser degree on other continents, there is also a parallel progression occurring in different scientific fields. This is absent in Africa.
How far away are we from seeing an African country launch a Mars probe or unmanned mission ?

The ANC greatest accomplishment will be when they relent and admit they have done a piss poor job for the last 27 years and are just not capable of running a Country.

Cos the world keeps 'assisting' africa. This results in folks like zuma taking the money sent to assist the people and build his nkandla harem instead of schools etc. Its standard throughout africa, bono etc raise billions, feed and african child etc etc etc, not one cent ever reaches the people, the 'leaders' however, golden showers all round. Best thing the world can do for africa is to cut off all funding and 'assistance', it'll remove the incentive for the parasitic leaders to rise to the top for the loots, and force the people to take a stand against the thieving dictators and forge their own futures

The SA government like plenty of others around the world is not geared to run businesses. They need to Privatize these SOEs - sell them to companies who will run them as businesses and then allow the opening of Eskom 2 / 3 / 4 etc to generate competition amongst them. The government needs to seriously focus on everything that's broken (which is everything) and come up with solutions for that. Improve service delivery at Home Affairs, provide Water sanitization, and basic ablution facilities in schools and rural areas etc.

Ramaphosa wants to invite global investment but without any benefits to investors - long-term visa and residency approvals take years, and procedures and benefits for foreign-owned companies who would employ SA citizens are looked up with suspicion.

Crime - the Minister is inept - completely useless in reducing crime or even coming up with viable options to reduce crime. Simple method - employ 10 times the number of people in the police force - not traffic police - but police force for crime prevention. Let them be SEEN in ALL areas at all times of the day and night. Train them and pay them well to NOT NEED to accept bribes and see how the crime rates start to fall. Mere police presence is good enough for people to think twice about committing crimes plus you will employ SA youth and start reducing the unemployment levels.

The lessons are there to be learned from other Governments around the world - take the best from each of them and make your own country stand out in every form. Then see how you will be the shining star everyone wants to be a part of, and a country to live in.

The destruction is, for the ANC "leadership", just an irrelevant by product of doing just about everything and anything for the personal benefit of themselves, the party, their families and their friends. Eskom 2.0 should be seen in the same light (well dark actually). Just a vehicle for looting for personal gain.
