How can I get my hands on something that isn't shipped to SA?

Trying to purchase a sealed item from this website is practically impossible: http://www.cardkingdom.com/

The reason given: "Due to export restrictions, this item may only be shipped to addresses in the United States, APO/FPO addresses, and Puerto Rico."

Which is quite frankly bull**** imo.

They charge $2.99 (R33) for something that costs R65 here, I'm not even a re-seller, I just want a good deal. They can sell individual cards though, but those cost the same here as they do there.

WTF is the point.

Is there no way around this? I can literally buy 60 boosters for the price of 30 here (excluding shipping), what exploitation is this:mad:

Profit, dear boy.

OK, that, and the fact that importing stuff to our country really is expensive.

Get a quote from PostBox Courier on those same cards and see how it adds up.

You don't know anyone in the states who can forward the package to you?

I've got people -that I know only from internet forums - to receive stuff and post it to me from both the US and Australia.

Parcel forwarding there are a few companies but I dont think your R32 saving will still be there after shipping and taxes/duties.

Not sure how that website is meant to be used? The things I searched for are already more expensive than they are locally by a good 20-30%?

Never heard of PostBox Courier before, will check it out.

Well those people are awesome, how much would forwarding it cost? I know one person in USA and he can't be bothered with this kind of stuff.

Such as PostBox Courier?

Well from Cardkingdom.com I can get free shipping on orders over $200, but how much will PostBox Courier charge and I'm not sure how this set-up is supposed to work then.

I have some Googling to do.

The people did it free. Posting a small item like you want will be super cheap.

I did send the one guy a case of beer delivered to his office to say "thanks" though for a thing that I needed in a big rush. Internet home delivery ordering rocks.

What about E-Bay guys, while not as lucrative, it seems I can get a R2000 booster box for around R1500-R1600 including shipping.

Anyone used it before?

was there not some post office courier or something? There is a thread here somewhere. You have the item sent to them and they forward it to you.

I think it's PostBox Courier, but it seems that shipping for a booster box will be around R900-R1000 - a booster box is really small too.

If you can get the box dimensions & weight you can get a quote from http://shipito.parceltrack.co.za/

Remember there'll also be customs vat & clearance fees to pay once the parcel gets to South Africa, if it's a very small parcel you won't get charged.

I don't know the exact dimensions, a booster box is this big.

It's not like I'm importing a freaking microwave or a PC component luls. That being said, is this preferable to E-Bay? E-Bay shipping seems to vary between R400-600.

What I don't understand about Post-Box courier is;

1) Do they buy the item I want for me?

Because this is the screen I get when I try to buy it.

You buy the goods and get them posted to post box courier with a reference linked somehow to your account at post box courier. They then post it to you.

The reason the store won't ship internationally is that they have an agreement with the company that makes the game not to encroach on the official distributors in other countries. Other online stores that usually happily ship internationally show the same message.
