How can you confirm if your Electricity meter is upgraded?

There is no codes on prepaid24 tokens purchases?
We got our codes probably 4-5 months ago when we purchased our electricity through Prepaid24. Two tokens for the upgrade and one for the amount we purchased.

Dear Eskom Customers, In order to check whether your meter has been recoded/upgraded to KRN2 or is still on KRN1, please enter the code 1844 6744 0738 4377 2416 on your prepaid meter's keypad. The screen will display either the number 1 or 2, and in some cases, there may also be alphabetic letters alongside the KRN number. Examples attached. Number 1 means your meter is still on KRN1 and needs to be recoded/upgraded to KRN2. Follow the steps on this message to do so Number 2 means your meter has been recoded/upgraded to KRN2. Your credit token slip will also reflect KRN2 when you make electricity purchases. Customers requiring further assistance may log a call at [http://alfred.eskom.co.za] (https://alfred.eskom.co.za )

Checked my Conlog last week, KRN 1 still.
Purchased a voucher today from Spar. Tried to load, wouldn't accept it - it's a KRN 2 voucher code. Tried through FNB as well, again, KRN 2 voucher code. I didn't get the upgrade token.

Did you use the #005# method ?

I have an old Conlog EKARD meter. Very recently moved in, no idea if the meter has been updated or not. The Eskom code only throws out a bunch of EEEEEEE's, #005# does nothing and just jumps back to the units remaining. I'm a little puzzled on this one. We only buy through banking apps also, so no till slip to check. Mbombela Municipality, if that makes any difference. Anyone perhaps have any bright ideas?

Found this. I was unsure if mine was upgraded. According to below, it is. I see a "2" after "KRN".

In order to see if your prepaid meter is recoded and will work after 24 November 2024 see below:

When next you purchase electricity examine the slip given to you with your TID Code
Towards the bottom of your slip you will see a reference to KRN
If the number after/below KRN is 1 then your meter has NOT been upgraded yet
If the number after/below KRN is 2 then your meter HAS been upgraded.

Thanks for this. Seems mine is upgraded. They probably upgraded it when they installed it as I did not do so. It was installed earlier this year.

I have an old Conlog Karo Meter. How do check if i am registered . I have tried the #005# code, but does not work. All it does is to return back to the units. IS there someone using the same meter as me, so i can try a new code.

try code 1844 6744 0738 4377 2416

The screen will display either the number "1" or "2" (sometimes accompanied by letters). Eskom said number 1 indicates that your meter is still on KRN1 and requires an upgrade to KRN2.

I have tried the different codes #005 & 1844 6744 0738 4377 2416 no success. I have the CONLOG METRE [C
kard] BEC23PL VE

Have you found a solution yet? I have the same problem as you when using these two methods to try and check if it's updated

My meter still says that it's not upgraded. bought electricity via FNB and still only got 1 code. registered and bought through the meter app as well and still only 1 code.

The following two codes apparently don't work on the very old Conlog E-kard meters:
1) 1844 6744 0738 4377 2416
2) #005#

Spoke to someone that swaps out the meters and they explained that codes were printed on the prepaid slips to enter in 2023 for these old meters 🤔

I have exactly the same metre as above. Also could not check if upgraded.
Had to call municipality (CityCapeTown), had to wait an hour...
Good news, i somehow upgraded mine beginning of this year 2024-1-1.
They also gave me a ref number.
