How close is Eskom to a total blackout?

I don't much like to think of what the repercussions are of what is happening right now and if this happens

OT: Is it just me or does BusinessTech seem to blow everything out of proportion?

You can get smaller kits for R5k-R10k

Do you want a little power during load shedding or to go off grid ?

Yeah, R5k - R10k would get you a bit of power, but its not necessarily something you can build into your electrical system at home that adds value and can be extended to Solar at a later date.....

Also wonder when Gauteng residents will have to register their PV/generators etc with the guavamunt for "safety purposes"?

Yup, I spend R350 a month on juice, so that's 17 years to pay off.
Worth every cent
Plus it adds over R70k to my property value.
But 1st things 1st, I hope to have my bond paid for in 3-4years time, Im putting an extra 40% in every month to kill interest

R350.00 a month, what do you have one light bulb and no appliances?

I don't even turn off my geyser.
I only started recently but have not noticed a difference. I think Im just going to leave it switched on as all im doing now is just wearing out my DB board switch

I like the fact that we have people exposing the inefficiencies and rampant corruption affecting our SOE's, but unfortunately Mr Ted Blom is prone to bouts of hyperbole.

He is right on many things there is no doubt, but he expresses himself and chooses his phrases carefully to keep himself in the limelight.

No wonder Eskom is battling with all you low users, wtf, buy electrical **** and up your usage.
I will up my usage the day it won't bankrupt me to do so. Until then ESKOM made its bed, it can lie in it.
