How do I claim back unused money from my Gautrain Card?

Currently in Cape Town and I have no use for the card anymore but I have some unused cash on it anyway I can claim this back?

Catch them out by buying a return ticket but only go one way.

IIRC you have to take it to a Gautrain station and they charge R30 to issue a refund

I don't think so. I had R180 sit on one of my cards for nearly 9 months before I used it again and everything worked Best would be to call their call centre
