How do I get addicted?

is there a difference between addiction and habbits though? I have this one of chewing my pens/ stationary without even realizing it,

Sure, if you think about the guy that just took a piss, spilled on his hand and did not wipe, used your pen for a minute and now you are chewing on another guys urine you might get put off and never stick dirty things in your mouth again... if you are addicted to heroin you will use a needle that was just in someone else arm without care of getting some disease.

You don't get addicted by shooting up 1 once in lets say a week or so. You do however become addicted if you shoot up within a set time period without giving your body time to remove said substance from your body.

As an example, Drinking on occassion and even getting pretty pissed will not make you addicted. However getting pretty pissed, go to bed and wake up with another shot and you keep going. This will get you addicted.

I guess the same applies to any other drug or substance. Having a smoke once a month doesn't make you addicted to it, but smoking once or twice every 2 hours will. and and and <insert drug of choice here>

The problem is that heroin is soooooooooooooooooooo good that You can't just do it once in a while... It is 100% addictive....
 
Heroin sucks goats balls - tastes like a freaking hospital - it made me so sick I couldn't handle work the following day - had to drive home throwing up all the way... that was the last time I went near the stuff - now I get nauseous around any medical smell.

Snort/Spike - no %$^%$^ ways I'd ever spike... was in the drug scene many years ago (3+) for a couple of years, mainly coke and cat... but got bored of it.

I got sick from snorting as well back in the day, never from chasing, did not try spiking and never got addicted, used it about 6 times in two months and then ditched it!

Yeh - I think one or two spikes and your gone - addicted...

Think I was using for about four-five years - but like I said, just heave coke/cat usage... don't have anything against drugs - just got tired of the sleepless nights, and the life that comes with it...

I loved someone who was deep into meth culture. Dealers, manufacturers, brothels, rehabs, psycosis, lamps thrown at my head, lying, cheating, hooker friends, guys everywhere, accusations and just bull**** all round.

Persuaded me to go NA meeting, picnics and other NA stuff - which is also all bull****.

Time of my life I don't want to go back to. Reading just sends me back to being in the 'circle' again.
