I'm trying to take advantage of this "bonus wifi data" but I can't find it on the login screen and clicking on wifi under MyServices does nothing.

That sucks. I'm on prepaid and when I recharged with R150 it showed on the site that I have 10 gigs bonus wifi data.

I think only certain contracts allow you to link your mac address.

From the site:

Telkom Mobile brings you another access technology to connect to the Internet. We bring you Telkom Mobile Wi-Fi to access Internet from your Smartphone, laptop and your tablet. Subscribe to Telkom Mobile contract packages and qualify for Free Unlimited Wi-Fi access. If you are a Pre-paid or Top-up subscriber, recharge with airtime and you will be allocated Free Wi-Fi Access for 7 days or 30 days. Subject to product specific terms and conditions.

So, how does one connect on prepaid?

I noticed some people are not knowledgeable on the term 'WI-FI'. Go check 8ta/Telkom Mobile facebook page, folks assume automatically they receive 10 gig of data to use immediately.

Into his smartphone?

If he has USB OTG, then why not.

Read the rest of the thread. What contract are you on? Only certain postpaid contracts are able to associate a second device to use the wifi data.

Which thread? This one isn't helping. I'm on prepaid. I have 10GB. I went to the wifi location, but wasn't sure what to do next.

How to use Telkom Wifi on your laptop

Ok I have found a way to use Telkom Mobile Wifi on my MacBook.

The problem is that I have prepaid, and on their website they say that you can't associate a MAC address unless you have contract. So hence my workaround:

If you have an Android device, simply pop your 8ta sim into it, connect via Wifi, select SIM as authentication method. Ok so now your Android device should be on the network.

To use via your laptop, simply connect your Android device to your laptop by tethering, either USB or Bluetooth.
For USB tethering on MAC, try HoRNDIS. Win7 should work by default. :D
