As someone who doesn't have parents that can advise me on life, business and career choices, I want to start a hangout / support group of sorts.
The idea is to create a group of people that offer variety in experience, different perspectives and a clear intent towards each other's best interest and exploring options, risks and hidden opportunities.
I have no idea how to manage or hold such a group together. If anyone has experience in managing groups like this, and has advice on what to do and what not to do, it will be greatly appreciated.
My current thinking is to have a fixed time and date every two weeks. (Weekly might be too much, and monthly too little)
At the moment it feels like herding cats. A surprising amount of people are interested, but no volunteers in terms of input or help figuring the structure out.
Also, what's a simple plan or guide for this kind of thing? Otherwise people will just mull about and eventually flake away. So some structure seems important.
