Above is describing me in a nutshell - anyone in this situation?

I am just tired of "stuff" around the house, getting rid of it slowly by selling on olx/gumtree or just giving it away at times.

Took me a few weekends to do a proper spring clean. ended up borrowing my dad's bakkie and storing alot of crap by his now empty house, since there's no more kids there. I also managed to dump 2 half ton bakkie loads of stuff at the recycle depot.

same boat as you, eventually got ourselves a storage unit for all the flotsam and jetsam we have accumulated.
tough call in all honestly, you want to throw it out, but then fear when you might need something like that one day.

AH the how do I deal with all my stuff. I don't have this issue at all. Everything I buy is bought with a purpose. Stuff happens when there is no purpose. That's the reality.

Watch/Listen/Read this: the minimalists (google will help) You don't need to do extremes like some of them, there is really good balance. It just simply boils down to doing everything with intention.
Also Marie Kondo (KonMari).

DO NOT STORE YOUR STUFF, sort it -> sell it/give it away!

Paying for storage for stuff is when you know there is a real problem. Imagine paying for storage for STUFF you don't need or even use....

Donated plenty of clothing and shoes (mostly the wife's stuff).
Kids clothing and toys too.
Amazing what a big difference an uncluttered house makes. Like a big relief.
This is an ongoing thing. Every few months need to de-clutter again.
My garage needs some de-cluttering now
