I have been scouring the web for a solution to this, I live in Cape Town and every time there is a little rain my dstv signal is scrambled. Is there a solution out there for this problem because I bought my dstv for sport and when it rains during a sports game all I do is sit there and do nothing!

Best solution is to cancel your DSTV subscription. ;)

A larger dish (90cm) would help slightly (so I've been told) but otherwise there's not much you can do afaik. Perhaps spraying your dish with non-stick spray :)

Do this.

1. get 2L Empty Bottle
2. cut it
3. Take the bottom half and put it on the Dish ( dont really remember the name of the it , but signal receiver or something like that)
4. your problem will be solved.

Rain should not be affecting your picture so much - unless it is a very heavy rainstorm or you have a very small dish.

I would do the following: Make sure you have a good signal - quality as well as signal strength. Upsize your dish. In this case big is always better!! :)) Make sure that your connectors are of the water proof type (they have a rubber O-ring on the inside of the F-type connector. Also inspect your coaxial cable. Our sun really "kills" the cables over time. Any cracks in your cable where moisture can get in will attenuate your signal.

Hope this helps!! :)

signal strength 72%, signal quality 100% Thanks

Your signal strength is a bit low!! I would try and improve on that. Get someone who knows what he is doing to check your dish peaking as well as your LNB polarization (skew angle of your LNB)

My signal at home is 98% strength and 100% quality. i only have a 80cm dish. Don't know of rain fade unless there is heavy rain.
