Midlands private schools shouldn't be charging anything below 500K per annum.

Home education is the solution. Schools, both government and private, is too expensive and unaffordable and only available to a small number of ultra rich people. Alternatively, online schools abroad in other 3rd world countries also prove to be cheaper, which is another option if you do have that finances available.

Speaking to the Sunday Times in November, economists warned that private schools in South Africa could see more learners dropping out and returning to former model C schools in 2023 as parents’ salaries struggle to match high inflation levels and a higher cost of living in the country.
My kid's private school fees are lower than some of the "former model C schools" in the area.

The problem with private schools are that the more people taking their children out of these schools, the higher they need to make their fees for those who still remain. It is no secret that all private schools have suffered huge losses in terms of less children. They have no other choice but to raise their fees and keep raising it to keep the boat sailing. But, eventually it will all come crashing down on them. That is how economics work.

My bigger problem I have is why government schools are becoming so expensive. They keep raising, some more expensive than private schools. They too keep losing children and seem now caught up in the grid where they need to keep raising fees to keep the schools functioning. Another death spiral waiting for them too.

Businesses needs to start dropping that idea that "South Africans have a lot of money". This is simply not true. The middle class virtually has nothing left. Businesses in SA is in for a rude awakening.
