I am about to get ADSL, and I am just wondering what kind of modem to get. I want the computer connected to the modem to get the public IP address. So I thought a plain modem would do.

Do you guys think the DSL-200i modem is good? Is it stable and fast?

Thanks

Ive personally used this modem and have found it very satisfactory.
It supports very good speeds and is quick to install.
The price of these modems are also very good

Very good entry level ADSL modem, if you are not worried about security or have a software firewall installed.
I have sold about 5 of these without any problems.
This specific model is not Icasa approved but I used one myself for 3 months before upgrading to the D-Link DSL-500G router.

This modem works very nice with the DU Meter software where you can keep track of your bandwidth usage as you use it.
You can even setup alerts when reaching a specific bandwidth limit.
