How long after a service can you send an invoice

I imported some goods last year, and I never received an invoice from the courier service. The inept morons never contacted me and have handed me over to a collections company. It's actually not a large amount, but it's really the principal of the thing.

Does anyone know if there is a time limit on sending invoices? Can you provide a service and send an invoice 12 months later? Because I would love to tell the courier company to get lost.

tell the collections company you'll pay for the amount due on invoice only, nothing else (I'm sure there's interest and other amounts included there). If they argue , tell them to provide proof that the invoice was sent to you in due time, otherwise tell them to fark off.
