how long before upgrading a contract 8ta

8ta phone me and told me one of my numbers is due for upgrade, just go to a store and do it.

So today I went after 2 weeks.

The store, Telkom store said Only after 22 months.

I would not have go if they they not phone me, so how long before one can upgrade at t moblie.
