How long do you usually wait for the ONT to be delivered?

I recently put in an Afrihost fibre order. The Openserve installers were actually pretty quick and attempted to do the install just 3 days later (on a Thursday), the same day Afrihost delivered my new "fibre ready" router. However, there was a palm tree blocking the pole where the fibre was from the house, so I needed to cut that back and did so on the weekend. The following Monday, the Openserve guys were back and they successfully ran the fibre connection from the pole to the house.

I was unfortunately not at home at the time, but when I got home that night I excitedly went to plug it all in, only to discover a piece of the puzzle was missing - Openserve had not supplied the ONT. Its now been 10 days, I still have no idea when the ONT will be dropped off and the 3 support tickets I've raised with Afrihost have all been on deaf ears with no responses about when I can expect to finally get that last bit of equipment.

So here's the question: Is it normal not to get the ONT at the same time as the installation, and if so how long on average has everybody been waiting for it?

Thats strange, they usually have the ONT with them when they do the install, i literally just had mine installed an hour ago with afrihost/openserve , the only device you wait on is the router.

The ONT is done the same day as the fibre install or at least it should be.

Doh! Thats what I feared, and probably why I seem to have fallen through the cracks. I'll keep on phoning every day. For some reason I get the feeling this is not going to be easy to sort out..

Try getting one of the afrihost reps on mybb to help. When they do , they usually get things done pretty fast.

A quick update - been 16 days now with 4 different support tickets to Afrihost over that time trying to find out what is happening. All the ticket responses have been something along the lines of "We'll raise it with the fibre team and get back to you" but nothing actually happens, am still sitting in the dark waiting on the ONT.

I wonder at this point if I'd have a faster turnaround by simply cancelling the order and then resubmitting a new order..

Got home and there the shiny new ONT was, cue much excitement until I discovered from the neighbors that none of our lines are working as there's a break in the fibre cable servicing our little block. But it's being repaired tomorrow apparently..
