How many of you have HomeLabs?

I have a N54L standing next to me. It is technically my homelab. A pre pre-alpha version of it.

The cycle works like this:

It has had a variation or combination of proxmox, docker, windows server and home assistant installed. I would then run into some issue (software wise, attributable to my lack of knowledge), research the issue, fix the issue, go off on another tangent that popped up during e.g. the research, forget the login details for one of the instances and end up formatting the whole thing.

Rinse. Repeat.

I have problem.

I have an N54L too. Installed VMWare on their multiple times. Very slow though.

I found a well specced server on Gumtree. Vmware is living on that permanently.

I've installed VMware / Proxmox multiple times in various configurations on Hetzner DE servers too.

I think I too have a problem.

My homelab is aging a bit. I'm in the process of refreshing the hardware.
HP DL360 G6
IBM xSeries x3650 M3
Synology NAS
Juniper EX2500 10G switch
Cisco 4948-10GE switch
Cisco 3750G PoE switch
5x Raspberry Pi 3's

And most of it is all switched off because the electricity bill every 3 months was more than the hardware is worth...

I run VMWare ESXi on it, got a VMUG Advantage subscription, $200 a year for a 6-socket vSphere license for messing around at home.

I've got a 24U rack in the garage with 2 x HP DL380 G7 servers, 1 Unraid NAS, OpnSense firewall and a few unifi switches.

I run Proxmox on the DL380's to host a bunch of VM's and to play with Docker etc.

I have a homelab which could make me tons of money, bought it off some guy who spoke a lot about crystals /s
