How many South African provinces have you been to?

Eastern Cape
Free State
Gauteng
KwaZulu-Natal
Limpopo
Mpumalanga
Northern Cape
North West
Western Cape

Operation vat alles.
Northern Cape the least - think twice.
Lived in KZN, GP and WC so obviously explored those the most.

Not lived / passed through NC yet. Is it worth planning trip to see Namaqaland for flowers and/or augrabies falls etc ?

spent a night in Kimberly.
Had family in Bloem.
many holidays in East Lopndon.
FAmily in WEstern CApe.
many holidays in KZN.
Live in Gauteng.
a few holidays in Limpopo.
few trips out to Rusternburg, and Spent a night in Klerksdorp due to a Broken car on a drive back from Cape town.
Family in Mpumalanga and many sailing trips to Witbank dam.

I have spent a night in every province of this country. I think that qualifies. just a drive though does not count, you have to have at least spent a night there.

If you like desert landscapes, sunsets, bird watching (especially raptors) and ocean vistas, it’s nice. Best camping in the country if that’s your thing. You can get a great campsite where you’re the only group, right on the coastline and watch the sun go down over the water.

Water stinks and is freezing so swimming is a bad idea. Póes hot on summer days, and freezing on winter nights. The flowers are rather lame.

Not much social stuff. Everyone I know who ever worked in the Northern Cape came back as either a long distance runner or an alcoholic.

Road trip to Kruger is required, as for Northern Cape I don't see me ever going there

Eastern Cape - Only been to Grahamstown (Makhanda) when I did my two years' military service (6 SAI)

Free State - Staying in the Free State, since 1983. Also stayed in a few smaller towns during my school years.

Gauteng - Regularly in Gauteng, it's just 10 km away from where we stay. My cycling club ride takes me through it early on a Saturday morning.

KwaZulu-Natal - Last time there was probably in 2016.

Limpopo - Never been there for an extended period, only driven through it many, many years ago.

Mpumalanga - Been there, although I have not been there for many years

Northern Cape - Was born in the Northern Cape, still have family there.

North West - My most recent visit there was in December last year.

Western Cape - Last visit there was in 2018 when we were there for our 30th wedding anniversary.

Looking at the map probably seven. I don't recall ever having gone to the Northern Cape or North West.

You don't recommend NC ? Any specific reason ?
Not that I don't recommend it, just really not had many opportunities to visit.
We did a family holiday once, was great. Out in the middle of nowhere, a million stars, very quiet. Very different to our normal busy holidays and thought the kids would be bored but they actually also enjoyed it, just taking walks, taking in the sights.
Was hot as hell; I thought Paarl gets hot and it does, Upington had it beat.

I've been in or driver though every single province.

Geographically however I have never been to Upington , Pofadder, Springbok side.
We stayed in Nababeep for about three years, which is about 20km away from Springbok. My father worked for the OCC (Okiep Copper Company), he was a geologist.
