I know quite a few who've come back to SA because they can't stand it there.

Who still goes to Australia? Probably people with family there already. It's near impossible to go there now days.

Also its a hole, and is full of Australians.

The fact it's gone up 33000 between 2011 and 2015 would indicate a flaw in your theory.

It's a well run, 1st world country. So the exact opposite of SA. Yeah, can't see why anyone from South Africa would want to go there (frog in boiling water, and all that).

The Mrs' extended family is heading over to Aus and NZ later this year, to join the rest of the family that moved there from Rhodesia a generation or two ago.

Of my Engineering graduate friends most of us have left SA, the majority sitting in either Aus or NZ, some in the UK one or two in canada and a few in the states or Germany.

Not impossible at all, but definitely costly.

I'd much rather move to Aus/NZ during the next 10 years than EU. With the migrant crisis, EU is in for a tough time ahead.

But , unlike SA, its not a shlthole. SA is f**ked. You can see the behaviour of people who don't like whats happening, burning down the neighbourhood because they're unhappy with who they voted in.

I know someone who is in Venezuela of all places. Some in the US.

How many push-ups can Chuck Norris do?

Spoken like someone that can not get in, even if he wants to. :D

It's about as easy as ever to get in for those who want to go. Some people love the place, others hate it. Just as you'll get South Africans who wouldn't live anyway else while others can't understand why anyone would choose to live in South Africa.

Australia does have a lot of potential and there are Australians who want to fix their country, so there is always hope.
