I have a smoking old Range Rover that has something wrong with the drive system as well, I am currently getting about half a kilometer to 1 litre of fuel.
My car is blue, and has brand new tires on.

My question is this, would I make it down to Durban? Is there enough fuel stations?

Simple solution.
Get a water tank trailer - fill with fuel. You should make it to the next filling station.
However, blue is more aerodynamic than white, so you should get a couple more centimeters per litre.
The new tires can be sold for fuel as well.

Open google maps, click on your house with streetview, click, click, click, click, click until you see the first toll booth, make a note of its value, click, click, click, click etc.

OP will probably use a little over a Tank so probably close on R700-800 for fuel. As for Toll Fees

So a Rounded estimate of about R1000 for one way...

Tolls have increased by 11%. i.e Marianhill R9.50, Mooi River R41 etc so your tolls fees will be approx R205 - not much difference.
