How much does it cost to get a gun license

You can goto ANY saps to get it printed. I applied at honeydew. Sms arrived. Went. No printer. Went to Linden. Walked out with the cert

I did offer to print it at home and bring it back, but they said its a confidential document that can only be printed at the station.
Its a laser printer, I am thinking of offering them to refill their cartridges, just don't know if it's the right thing to do, This is how u corrupt govt officials.
 
I think none of us can really give an exact date on how long it takes....

Blue circles shows working days. Got so excited that the Pardus and Ruger was moving at the same time only for the Ruger to lag behind. Was submitted same day.

And to hell with the 308. That was submitted 11 Feb, stuck on the second step.

Quite the arsenal you are building up there. You should be able to handle most apocalyptic scenarios with ease
 
Will be buying a firearm today, cam I apply for two handguns? One self defense and one for sports ? Or they have to be done separately ?
Also the safe, is it a requirement that it has to installed by a certified installer or can I do it myself ?

1. Yes you can apply for 2x firearm licences ..I have a S13 & a S15
2. The safe, as long as it complies to the required SABS standard, can be fitted by you. Use the correct size rawlbolts and washers and make sure its to spec and more......
You will need to take pics of it open, shut, with the key in it and you may have a visit from the DFO to inspect the safe and its fitting...

To add to the other correct answer above:

If at all possible, get a bigger safe than you think you need. It fills up quickly.
And remember the 30mm washers when mounting.

I started with a handgun safe, then upgraded to a '5' rifle safe, but I can barely fit 2 scoped rifles in there.

Soon I'll have to upgrade to what I should have bought in the first place. An 8 or 10 rifle safe.
 
250 working days since i submitted my competency application, followed by section 13 gun application

Glock17 license approved sms just came in. Now for the card!
 
Installed a safari outdoor safe myself. Took the pics. Dfo never came to look

Yep. I double messed up by only getting handgun competency at first. So I had a double set of admin. And now also have 2 separate competency renewal dates to deal with.
