How much money I saved driving Volvo's most affordable electric car

By using the electric Volvo EX30 instead of a petrol car for my daily driving, I saved about R182 a week in travelling costs.

Volvo Cars South Africa provided MyBroadband with a top-specced version of its recently launched Volvo EX30 to test out for a few months.

You guys know how to get free stuff.

Had my name down for one of these since January. I keep hearing "Later this year". Are these being sold in Jhb?

In the real world it thus would have cost more than a 'normal' car. Add higher purchase price, higher insurance cost, tyres and brake pads last shorter, etc. I cannot see any sense in an electric car.

neither can I , dont get me wrong they are cool, but they remind me of the 1st ICE cars, when everybody rode horses.
expensive, overly complicated, filled with stuff that nobody needed and impractical, when there weren't any petrol stations.

what we actually need is a Model T EV, that is cheap, efficient, easy to fix and reliable,
not filled with gigantic screens like a Home cinema and not priced out of most peoples budgets.

we need a Tazz or a Model t, but an EV equivalent, and I simply cant understand why this isn't being done.
why are they giving us 10 screens and garbage like this, is it to try justify why they are so expensive?

because an EV is actually quite simple when you break it down to what you actually need,
so they add nonsense like screens to "make" it up to people.

I mean I hate to say it, but imagine Hitler had to design a EV, would it have 100 screens?
no, it would be simple, reliable and have enough space for everybody, a peoples car.

not Elons Jesus mobiles and not this.

Volvo can definitely be insured but a person I know who has the XC40 Recharge, I believe its all through them. He pays quite low though comparatively.

Dear Volvo.

For giving MB a free car and making them write a shitty article, I will no longer be buying your brand.

Your marketing team sucks.

Kind regards
