Why don't they mention the US or Canada? Last I heard, they both offered this.

Also, it's just another indicator of how much of a third world ****hole this place has become. The currency rates don't lie.

USA does offer an option. Last I heard it was close to R5 million

ZAR? Not as bad as i would have expected.

It's $1M investment providing 10 permanent jobs, or $500K investment into a poor/"targeted development" area. Plus some admin charges and fees on top of that, totalling around $50K extra.

So probably closer to R7bar, and then you may not get some/any of it back again. They're also changing the rules on this option quite soon, so it may actually no longer be available.

If you don't have lots of cash or have citizenship of a treaty investor country (and SA isn't one...), it's really hard to get into the states.
