Since they finished studing (40 years old)

Assume they finished studying at 23, then worked for a total of of 17 years for the department and is now 40 years old. Their gross is R25315,50. Net would then be depending on figures perhaps R17k or R18k depending on medical aid dependants.

That's 15400 on a 14k income?
Unless the 'skuld' doesn't quite get covered.

I experience quite the opposite , I'm in Atlanta and find electronics and general cost of living to be a lot cheaper, it's way easier to live on a single income here than in CTN.

Interesting I’ve been looking at an internal job posting in Atlanta and wondered it if was even worth applying as in the shorter term my wife would be jobless and with a 4 year and 4 month old it seems like very poor timing.

I would do a complete living cost vs income breakdown under the scenario when you arrive and when you wife will be allowed to work. There are a bunch of the things I didn’t really know about when I left that ultimately made things much cheaper:

From my initial job that were paid for “before” my salary:
- Stock grants ($10-20k/y)
- Discounted stock purchase programs (extra $10-20k/y)
- Matching 401k (extra $9k/y)
- Dental coverage
- Eye coverage
- Medical coverage

“Discounts”
- Mortgage interest deductions
- Property tax deductions
- Dependent deductions

I also didn’t appreciate the relative decrease in travel costs and holidays.

Is her plan to go to the US or stay here?

We are 11 months waiting now after the visa application. Immigration website says 7 - 9 months. My congressman can’t get an answer out of immigration on the delay.

Thanks trump!

Like this tool;

After serving the company for 14 years, a Golden Arrow Bus driver said his R11 000 income did not cover his expenses.

The Atlantis man said from his R11 000 salary, he paid a monthly instalment of R5 500 for his 2016 Volkswagen Polo.

No financial sense whatsoever
