Wife got 23% increase, me 6%. She's still complaining about the small increase.
6% of a 1000 is a lot more than 23% of a 1000 though, unless your wives salary is closer to yours
I think that you got the 0's wrong
We're getting a bonus...still waiting to see how much it will be.
Seriously, they don't pay above 50th? So they pay less than everyone else?Got a 4.4% cost of living increase, and a 42% salary adjustment to be at the 50% percentile for my job spec. I am now at a hard ceiling as the company does not pay above the 50% percentile.
That brings to me around R660k a year
No, they pay less than half the other companies, and more than the other half.Seriously, they don't pay above 50th? So they pay less than everyone else?
Correct. The max they will pay is up to and not above the 50th percentile as per some Deloitte report.Seriously, they don't pay above 50th? So they pay less than everyone else?
Kind of correct. They pay up to what you said. I can promise you people at my title are sitting at the bottom 25th percentile. Having to be careful though, as I am by far the youngest member in my team and currently the highest paid by around 50%.No, they pay less than half the other companies, and more than the other half.
I'd do it for less than my current salary (within reason of course), just to get out of SA.Got a new job in the Netherlands, starting 1 Feb. They're just matching my base salary but there are a lot of advantages: 30% highly skilled tax ruling, medical/insurance, retirement+social security, and other things whereas my current job has none of that as I'm an hourly contractor.
So I guess I'll be emigrating next month.
