These are way too high.

If this is more than twice a month, it's too low, especially with your income.
I've recently moved to the R499 pm FreeMe 20Gb deal offered by Telkom. Comes with 1500 all-network minutes and free Telkom-Telkom calls... This has moved my costs down from the R1000+ pm I was spending before.

The going rate for Domestic Workers around these parts is ~R160 pd.
She comes-in once a week, four times a month for half a day each time.

How much are you paying?

Yeah, paid-off. The car is now 7 years old and still going strong.
keep it that way, mine is 10 years old. I put the extra money straight into the bond. Jut because you can afford it doesnt mean you have to keep up with anyone. A car means nothing to me, its a means to an end. :)

Because you buy a new car when it isn't needed doesn't mean you're keeping up with people. Some people love a nice car, others love to drink expensive wine, etc.

That is a debate for another day so I won't get into that anymore. But, if you are paying for this car that you didn't need with money you don't have (debt) just to get something you like. It isn't the best thing to do. Fine wine whisky etc is slightly different as you can likely pay cash for it. But to each person their own...

Same here, unfortunately my 10 year old car was too small with a new addition to the family. Therefore, I decided I should get a bigger and newer second hand that I hope will last at least 5 years. But now I have a debt, just as the company I do work for is restructuring, which might leave me without a regular income...
