How much monthly payments are on the CityBug – South Africa’s cheapest electric car

The CityBug recently went on sale in South Africa for R230,000 - making it the cheapest electric car in the country.

I will take one for free as a toy car to play around with. But actually paying hard earned money for this POS no way!

The minimum speed on the Freeway is 60km/h. So not sure how you will drive to town from most places. Maybe if you stayed within the cbd and just need to drive to work, or so, then you may get away with it, but otherwise, 230k total waste of money.

For it to be any chance of success, it needed to have doubled its max speed limit.

This can be extended to 200km at the customer’s request.

I'm assuming this comes at a cost and isn't a case of - please can I have the additional range, cause why would anyone have the shorter range then? Great article that leaves out this little tidbit.
