How much money you will save if you fill your petrol tank today

Many South Africans will have to cough up between R40 and R55 for a tank of petrol from tomorrow, depending on the size of their vehicles' fuel reservoirs.

Fuel prices are set to climb to record-high levels from midnight, driven by increased international petroleum prices, a weakened rand, and the implementation of the Slate Levy.
If I get stuck in a queue tonight, I'm blaming this article.

Why would you need an entire write-up about something which has happened countless times before, when all if takes is a simple calculator on the same phone you're using to read the article in the first place.

The last time I filled up was over a year ago and I have just under 1/2 left. So nice to WFH
I go 3 months on a 40l tank now.

the thought of all the money wasted on petrol travelling to an office for a desk job is sickening.

That fuel has probably gone stale by now. The car will still drive, but likely have lower power and torque.

When I returned from Afrikaburn in 2017 I filled up on route and when I got home I still had half a tank. My car stood for 3 years and I only started using it again last year. I never had any issues whatsover starting my vehicle (it had been standing for over 9 months before the last startup) and I drove totally normally with the fuel in the tank until I had to fill up again.
I have heard people say fuel goes stale or condensation enters the tank through the breather hole etc, guess I was just lucky

People will probably queue here at the Caltex for R50 savings, then order 2 Seattle Coffee's at R60 while they wait
