A single person should be able to get by with R15 000 net comfortably enough in Joburg/PTA (and no, not a with a R3000pm car, get something thats R1500 to R2000).

A couple where each get R15 000 net (R30 000 net together) should be able to get along even better because of shared costs.

I don't get what you're saying. Medical Aid is for those huge unpredictable expenses. Those times you get into a car accident and need to spend a month in ICU for example.
