Car: Kia Cerato 1.6 Ex
Age: 10 years
Mileage: 138000km
Plans: Not sure. I still like it and it has been the most reliable car I have owned but am itching for something new. Will probably have to replace significant others car first. Its a 2018 model but too small as we now have a baby.

I still remember when you got that car. Can't believe that was around 10 years ago already...

Car: Honda Ballade 1.5 CVT
Model: 2017
Kilos: 30,000
Plan: Bought this used from Honda after my 2015 Honda Ballade 1.5 CVT (70,000km) was rear ended on my way to work at the end of last year. Best value for money car IMHO and a great car for commuting. Spacious, full leather, key-less entry/go, nice mags, bullet proof engine etc.
Nice - how much was the 2017, if you don't mind me asking?

Car is spotless. Executive model, full leather interior, keyless entry/start, reverse camera, rear parking sensors, full service history at agents, CVT gearbox, remainder of service plan/warranty. Had 25,000 km on the clock when I bought it. One owner from new, he traded it in on an HRV as he wanted the higher driving position.

I paid R220k. I'm an accountant by trade and extremely stingy. Cars are not an investment but simply a tool. Sure its not a babe magnet but at 46 years old and married with a kid that is the least of my worries. There is no better value to be had than this. I think the Ballade is criminally overlooked in the SA car market by people looking for a spacious family car.

The CVT on those is really good, so smooth and seamless and when you need it still plenty of power despite the small NA engine.

Car 2: VW Scirocco 2.0 TSI
Age: 10 years
Mileage: 106000 km
Plans: A little powerhouse and surprisingly light on fuel after a few mods. Keep indefinitely as well. I use it mostly on weekends and it still brings a smile to my face everytime I start her up.

Any maintenance issues taken care off since you've had it? What were the costs like? (I know it's under plan but they should've still stated the costs I think)

Tempted on getting one of these next year.

No issues yet, that's why I wanna keep her for as long as I can, just tyres are costly between 9 to 12K a set depending on brand.

Car Make and Model: Ford Ikon
Age: 16 years
Mileage: Approximately 480,000 km
Plans?: Keep, it’s part of the family

Car Make and Model: Big Boy Velocity
Age: 2 years
Mileage: 24,000 km
Plans?: Planned to replace it with a 1400cc cruiser within days of getting it, but it’s hard to argue with 30c/km. The saving on petrol has already paid for it twice over, not to mention the saving on time

Aftermarket parts are still quite easily available. OEM stuff is pricey though as they start to be discontinued...especially for the 20v :crying:
Yeah, thinking more along the lines of 10 years from now. Basically it's going to be a case of how long those will keep running in Eastern Europe as well (they have a lot of old cars).

Car: Rover CityRover 'Style' (aka Tata Indica LXi)
Model: 2008
Odometer: 126,740 km @ 06/09/2020
Plans: 2 more instalments to go & it's paid off in full - keeping it until my financial circumstances (influenced as a result of the pandemic) dictate otherwise

Bought it in November 2015 when it had just over 69,000 km on the clock (1 previous owner from new).

Car 1
Car:
Ford Fiesta
Model: 2005 1.6i GHIA
Odometer: 138 000 km
Plans: I've put an AndroidAuto capable radio in to modernise it, added proper JBL speakers all round, installed a SWR 4-2-1 branch, full free flow bezorst and a Unichip. I've got a 1200w JBL sub that needs installation and I need to get an amp to power everything. I also want to put smash & grab tint on.

Car 2
Car:
Volkswagen Kombi
Model: 2020 Comfortline 2l DSG BiTDI 132kw SWB
Odometer: 4500 km
Plans: Installed a Skyjack lift in the rear for my son, removed the rear row of seats and rotated the middle row so that the other passengers can keep him company. We might put a stiffer suspension in, as the lift causes the rear to sag a little bit.

Car 3
Car:
BMW S1000XR
Model: 2015
Odometer: 45 000 km
Plans: Installed HP Levers, HP seat, custom rear sets, smoked the badges, tinted screen, decat, radiator guards, Givi tank bag and BMW luggage set. I might upgrade to a newer, low mileage model, but we'll see.
