A 5L costs about R300 or R60/L. That oil should have been less than R350.

Doubt a 2008 Corolla takes some special oil that costs R80/L odd.
Not arguing that, I'm just saying I doubt Toyota charged him for 56l of oil. 5.6l makes more sense for a car, specially if it's the Hilux he spoke about in the post where he posted that.

Still can't believe I have driven less than 1000km since March. Anyway,

Car: BMW 118i F20 M Sport
Age: 7
Mileage: 106k KM
Plans: Keep forever or swap for something faster if I am to find the right deal.
Mileage now is 113k KM. Plans haven’t changed: keep forever or replace with something faster if the deal is right.

Checked my Fuelly logs and apparently I put on 7000km during last year. The year before, before COVID happened, I did 10'000km.

Sitting on 270'000km. The car will be ten years old this year, so I'm itching for something new.

Yes... But decided to keep it so long and have things replaced, such as replaced the tyres and shocks and starter and other wear and tear items. Going for R105K now

2011 Hyundai i30. I'm itching to replace it with a Freelander 2 as we're doing more outdoorsy stuff the last while and would love something that we can take off the beaten track, but we're busy moving house so it's not top priority right now.

My dad owned a Freelander 1. What a POS it was... Clutch issues, gearbox issues, injector issues, terrible build quality (trim would just fall off). That was all before the car had hit 170,000km. Electronic ignition completely failed too, but being an industrial electronic engineer - he designed and built his own electronic starter.

I believe the Freelander 2 is far superior in every way and doesn't suffer the poor build quality the 1st generation had. Also it wasn't built by the British...

Our freelander 2 gave a few issues but the government loved it, she was sad when we sold it due to financial constraints in 2018.

Literally everything was wrong with the first freelander. One of its great big flaws was that if you turned the wheels full lock then the car couldnt move forwards or backwards, some people tried anyway and things broke badly.

Corsa lite 1.4+, It's 15 years old with 233 000kms on the clock.
240 000 now, at this rate my target of 300k kms looks like a pipe dream. I did some maintenance on the cooling system, replace the radiator hoses and the coolant.

The thing still looks and sound indestructible looking at all the newer cars I've had to repair for family members. Engine is still as it was from the factory and the car still runs well.

My mom still has her old 1995 Opel Astra 160i GSi as a spare car with over 301,000km. Not a COTY, but a solid car none-the-less. I use it to get myself around whenever I'm up in JHB to visit.

2009 Peugeot 207 1.6 diesel
Age 11 years
Mileage 144k

Just resprayed it and it looks great again. She's smoking a little now. A suspect that 1 injector is getting a bit blocked, original clutch and release bearing are starting to show signs of wear, and the turbo is whistling a bit. Other than that, she hasn't given me any significant trouble. Still plenty of torque for overtaking though, so I'm quite content for now.

Think I'll get the clutch done and see how I feel about an upgrade at 200k.

1998 Mk3 Golf 1.6 GS that my parents bought for me when I was in Grade 12 in the year 2012. It had 160 000km and was a one owner, lady driven car. It is almost on 260 000km. Its time for an upgrade but the thing is so damn cheap to run and maintain.
