President Cyril Ramaphosa has authorised the Special Investigating Unit (SIU) to launch an investigation into allegations that a major security breach at state arms company Denel may have led to the theft of classified and highly sensitive data about the company and the South African military’s missile capabilities.

The unprecedented breach has been compared to treason and industrial espionage by a senior military officer.

City Press can today reveal that, last week, Ramaphosa signed a proclamation authorising the SIU to probe allegations that intellectual property for some of Denel’s highly sought-after missiles was stolen by current and former employees.

At least two former Denel executives, who met with Sami officials when they visited the company’s offices in Pretoria last year, are now employed there.
Prime suspects...

They must be dragged back to the country if indeed they sold the tech.

"South Africa's Military Capabilities"

Formidable 20+ years ago, now nothing, we could quite honestly be successfully overthrown by 1/100 of the UK armed forces from the 1940's.

And 'given' sounds awfully charitable. There is literally no limit to how seffrikens gets taken for a ride both willingly and unwillingly.

As much as its easy to agree with you.. We do actually still make some pretty good weapons... Our army might be generally rubbish but our weapons industry is still pretty good...

The army seems to lack the capability to actually understand how to use them though

Are the Gupta's getting paid royalties by the Saudi's for their tech? Or do the Gupta's simply own the Saudi arms company directly. Jeesuz this is embarrassing, exactly how many different individual entities have stolen or defrauded Denel?
