How South Africa's GDP per capita has dropped since 1990

Economist Mike Schüssler has published a graph of South Africa’s gross domestic product (GDP) per capita which paints a pitiful picture of the country’s financial situation.

In 1990, South Africa’s GDP per capita was 107% that of the world average. Fast-forward thirty years and this figure has dropped to 74%.

In simple terms, it means that South Africans are getting poorer when compared to their global counterparts.

When you have morons running the government this scenario is to be expected .
Steal and mismanage is the way , so busy fighting for position .
Sad state of affairs .

Because they aren't "breeding like rabbits" mate. Our fertility rate is pretty low for an African country, but good job on saying what the people at the braai fire think is the absolute truth.

Why do you want to compare it to an African country? Few success stories in Africa.

We're the 5th most populous country in Africa, with Nigeria, Ethiopia, Egypt and the DRC ahead of us.

I think our fertility rate is just fine.
