Same here, only go to the Dr. if I am half dead. or need a sick certificate for work.

Dentist however I go to twice a year for cleaning and check ups. Real teeth are worth investing in than dentures.
if my dentist decreased his costs then i would go more often.

Idiot friend of mine had a broken tooth brewing for a couple of months, granted the fellow was out of work and broke, but I kept telling him go to an academic hospital & have it fixed for free/cheap it's just gonna get worse.

On Thursday last week the pain started, went to the hospital, they can only help him on Monday lol, went the whole weekend in extreme pain, phoned me a few times just to bemoan his lot & tell me I know you told me so.

Eventually had the tooth surgically extracted today, after not being helped again yesterday. See, I told him so..

Hate the dentist with a passion.
Always say to him " you hurt me I hurt you" with my fist tightly clenched near his balls:ROFL:

I don't dislike dentists or doctors. With dentists, I don't go as often as I should, just due to cost being a bit prohibitive. Generally when I get sick, I have some of the symptoms (runny nose or a cough etc), but I don't feel sick. In my experience doctors give you medicine to stop you from feeling sick. They will give you something for a runny nose and something to ease the coughing, which is treating the symptoms, not the cause. It remains up to your own immune system to make you better again, so I don't bother.

Cracked a big chunk of tooth off. Eventually the pain goes away when the nerve dies. Yes I’m that idiot.
I’m sure I can walk off a broken femur.
Had to bring this up again just to highlight how idiotic I am for avoiding the dentist. Ended up getting my tooth repaired on Tuesday. He was just barely able to save the tooth and so far it seems to have worked and I won’t need a root canal job. He also explain what happens when you don’t go and get it sorted. I’m an idiot.
Never again. Tooth pain is no joke.

I am generally in good health so don't go very often, only when I have to. In January this year I had to go as I was an idiot with a new knife and had to have my thumb seen to as the bleeding was on another level. I was lucky to only chop off a bit of skin and not go into bone.

Dentist, I avoid. No regular checkups. I'm also one to use every over the counter remedy before I even think of going. Had to go last year to get a root canal done because there is only so much pain one can tolerate

The smell of a hospital lab is f***g aweful. I won't stop being stubborn unless they review this.
Hospitals and old age homes. They say it's the cleaning products, but I know it's the smell of death they are hiding like a blend of toilet spray and **** smell.

Second molar, with lots of grinding and pratleys.
All I really got from what he explained was that if I was in pain post fix I’d have to schedule the root canal but so far I’ve had zero pain which I take as a good sign.

Me and my sister both have a tolerance for local anesthesia for some reason and as a child no one told me that you were supposed to go completely numb, I just thought it was supposed to hurt less... Imagine your whole life having dentistry done with about a 1/4 of the numbing required.

Yeah so I have a pathological fear of dentists, had to take urbanol to get a root canal done a few months ago.

My main problem is that I procrastinate on making the phone call to book an appointment

Holy sh.t. That's horrible. I make them inject me again even if I feel the slightest bit of pain.

I had a root canal when I was very young, like 9-12 age. And then I refused to go to the dentist for years after that. When I met my SO he started forcing me to go. Dentist said my teeth are still pretty good for someone that didn't see a dentist for so long.

I need to get an implant done that didn't take so I've made an appointment with a facial surgeon for Tuesday and will hopefully just get the implant sorted ASAP. I still absolutely hate dentists and anything like that near my mouth.

I heard in a podcast the other day that someone was grinding their teeth down to make "fangs" and that's one of my literal worst fears. I have nightmares about grinding teeth and using forking sandpaper on teeth. It's a serious fear for me.
