How the SABC can save itself from financial ruin

The SABC's plan to cut 400 jobs was recently suspended until the end of 2020, following strike action and a widely-publicised video of an in-office altercation between employees and management.

The SABC faces financial disaster if it is unable to cut costs, and its board has concluded that the only way to avert this crisis is to retrench staff.

“If people want to be angry they should be looking at the government and the ANC, which actively facilitated the deliberate undermining of good governance and efficiency at the SABC – and other places,” he said.
This must be the quoted for the truth.

If it bloated, quick fix how is blaming government going to help. The short term solutions is to cut heads. Having useless people drawing salary wont help. If the others want to protest even better cut the rot out, see how quickly people will start walking the straight and narrow.

But article like this do not help every couple of month come a new article saying how people keep stealing money and get paid huge bonusses and need bail out again. Then no no we have a new plan to help SABC out of financial ruin! around and around we go.

This wreck can still be salvaged. The SABC is operating in an industry which is in boom (peak TV anyone).

He called on the SABC to think and reorganise staff in a “smart way”. “Stop the laziness, go to each floor, each unit, investigate who works there, what their jobs are, and then decide,” he said.
Watse kak gedagtes is die?

Don't listen to this bullshit. Just do the country a favour and end this shitshow.

We all know what could save them, the better question is "will they listen?", and looking at the bonusses paid to management, I really doubt it

Invert the job titles and salary scales and you'll see that place take off. Wouldn't work in a non-SOE business (cleaner wouldn't know how to do the CEO's job). But at anything ANC run - chances are the newest innate has equal (or more) brains that the top. At least they'd have newer ideas.

I love headlines like this. Here are my recommendations to save the SABC:

1. Liquidate.
2. Do not resuscitate.
3. End this madness once and for all.

Expecting the ANC to look after the SABC is like expecting the fox to take care of the chickens.
