Following on from my other post and the information I found

While most people are content to blame or laud government efforts to boost water availability in Bengaluru and Karnataka state at large, there are some people and organisations trying to come up with solutions to the problems faced by the mega city. Arvind Jayaram talks to some of them.

The water activist was among those who persuaded the government to make the harvesting of rainwater mandatory in Bengaluru. An educator based in the city, he has been involved in activities to clean up its lakes and protect its water bodies through the Biome Environmental Trust.

Build and recharge open wells : Lessons from Bengaluru for India's groundwater crisis

I wonder why we do not have these water conservation measure here in SA ?
Are we all too proud to go out and dig RECHARGE wells ?

Nobody is stopping you from digging a well.

Where does pride come into it?
How would you then describe the current water saving policies currently in place in "sunny" SA ?
Effective ? / Not effective ?
IF not effective -- WHY not ?

What does pride have to do with people not going "out and dig RECHARGE wells ?"

How many have you dug to date?

I currently live in KZN -- where the constant rain is starting to become -- tiring ...

Do you think that recharge wells are a positive water saving feature ?
WHY do you think that the people in Graaff Reinet are happy to sit by and WAIT for central government to -- DO SOMETHING -- and -- let Gift of the Givers drill DEEP boreholes.

Is there SOMETHING / ANYTHING that the individual residents could be doing / SHOULD be doing ?

I can ALSO to be LIKING to write in RANDOM caps. It ARE easy on the EYES, and making MY point very GOOD
It also indicates that -- perhaps -- you need to learn how to write in -- ENGLISH !

Have you been out there to tell them about other options?

Is there SOMETHING / ANYTHING that the individual residents could be doing / SHOULD be doing ?
People with the necessary knowledge and experience would have to get out there to inform them of those options.

India will be a superpower in less than 72 hours , lets see all these detractors on the 01/01/2020 !

No matter what you do, if it ain't raining and ain't no water in the ground, you can walk on your head in an empty well and it won't help zero no nothing.....

Besides working better with the water we have, use less, use sparingly, plant better etc. Etc. the biggest problem is infrastructure.

South Africa is huge. If the infrastructure was there to easily share water to areas that do not have water we won't sit with the problems we have today. Plans were in place to build dams and lay pipes, but as with all things, the money disappeared to some politicians pockets.

Go dig your wells, buy your tanks, drill your holes, if it there is no rain and no infrastructure not even your spit will help you.

Thank you for those kind and encouraging words
It appears G D has listened and it has / is raining
Perhaps he has listened -- too well and there will now be -- FLOODING ?
