How to build a gaming PC for the price of a PS5

Performance of this build will probably be closer to a Series S than the X or PS5, definitely no 4k gaming happening here.

But you do get access the the biggest back catalog by far, the largest number of platform exclusives and the games are cheaper.

Personally, I would be looking at a second hand GPU at this price point.

Rather go over budget and build a better machine. With the price Sony charges for peripherals and titles you'll be saving from the start actually and get access to a bigger catalogue.

Oof, yeah, GPU prices are screwing the comparison.
In the past you could build a $450 PC that competes with the PS4 or Xbox One X.

An i3 with a 1650 just has no chance.

Although, you must remember that 4K on the consoles is 4K with medium to low settings. If you go used and get a 5700XT with a used Ryzen 5600 / 3700X you could probably get PS5 performance for close to the same price.
