How to change Network Name and Password on Mweb Technicolor TG589 router?

I would like to know is it possible to change the name of my network name and password? If so how? router is the Mweb Technicolor TG589.

You need to log into it via the gateway address. EG, 192.168.1.1

Then add in the username and password. Should be admin/admin admin/password

I understand that but the password i would like to change is the one you would use to access the wifi through a phone and the network name i want to change is the name that presents itself when seen on a phone! I do not see the options to do this when i log in via the gateway!

Probably under the home network section. Otherwise flash it with an unlocked firmware.

It's under Home Network / Interfaces / Wireless Network / Configure

I would however highly recommend flashing the NON-MWEB firmware - get rid of the FON shirt with a silent "r" as well as the MWEB management & monitoring.

Could this be a reason Mweb subscribers are complaining? Is this code generating data log files?

Those are truly horrible routers. Had more hassles configuring them than with any other routers.
