To identify your Vodacom data card, look on the back for either a model number or serial number.

If the serial number starts with:

- CL: You have the Option Colt GPRS/3G card.
- QL: You have the Option Quadlite GPRS/3G card.
- RC: You have the Option GT Fusion GPRS/3G/WLAN card.
- NZ: You have the Option Nozomi GPRS/EDGE/3G/HSDPA card.
- NL: You have the Option Nozomi GPRS/EDGE/3G/HSDPA card.

If you see the model number:

- Merlin U630: You have the Novatel GPRS/3G card.
- Merlin U740: You have the Novatel GPRS/EDGE/3G/HSDPA card.

V3G,

I'm playing with a test HSDPA card and the serial starts with NZ but it is labelled Option, model GT3G+EMEA and it's a HSPDA/3G/EDGE/GPRS card. "Safely Remove Hardware" lists it as a GlobeTrotter 3G+.

So is this a Nozomi?

Linux driver for U740?

Hi,

Any new on the availability of a Linux driver for the U740? My U630 worked out of the box, but the U740 doesn't. It only detects a USB hub (with three ports) so it leads me to believe that it may use the same approach as the Option card (where it assigns a serial port to one of the USB ports).
