Need advice on configuring Pcsx2 to run my ps2 games off Cd-Rom!:confused: I know there are many tutorials online..believe me I've been through a number of them,but I want to hear from someone who actually has it running smoothly and what version they used?:D

Running a Nvidia GeForce 7600GT gpu.

Do you really need a tut to run a game? Wow ok.

I tried this some year ago on a 7600GS with Metal Gear Solid 3 Subsistence, the game itself worked flawlessly (compatibility), but poor framerates about 15fps.

You really need a dual core or better for PS2 and Gamecube emulation.

haha No I dont , maybe I phrased my question wrong or didnt supply substantial details.

My Pc will run the emulator fine , my problem is that it bombs out when trying to run from a Ps2 disc and wanted to know if anyone has had success with and what plugins they used.

Thanks for the input anyway .

PCSX2 0.9.6 Final: Config -> Configure -> Cdvdrom -> choose either "Gigaherz" or "P.E.Op.S" and configure it to play from your DVD Drive.

PCSX2 0.9.7 BETA: Config -> Plugin/Bios Selecor -> Plugin Tab -> CDVD: Change to either "Gigaherz" or "P.E.Op.S" -> Apply & then configure the plugin to run from your DVD Drive.

A lot has happened in a year. The newer PXSC2 0.9.7 is amazing I must admit. I get 50-60 FPS in quite a few games and probably MGS 3 too. It's nice to play around with the new SVN builds once and a while :D

Hi guys

I know this thread is old but I too have a problem with tweaking the thing. The emulator works fine but I can't play the games I love most which is GT4 and TT(Tourist trophy). I don't know whether it's the graphics or the emulation.:confused:

Specs: Intel 2140 Dual Core CPU (1.6 GHZ)
1 Gig DDR2 Ram
Nvidia 9500 GT gfx card 1Gig DDR3 Vram

I've had success with two games so far. Fifa 08 and The Incredible Hulk. Plays absolutely fine. If anyone can help....please feel free.:)

GTA is on PC if I remember.

Check if TT is on PSN.

Well what happens when you try to run them? Do any other games work at all?

Your .ISO is probably bad.

Your specs are to weak for PS2 emulation, certain games may work as you pointed out above but certain {and by that I mean almost all} games will have considerable lag...

Minimum
* Windows 2000 or newer/Linux OS
* CPU that supports SSE2 (Pentium 4 and up, Athlon64 and up)
* GPU that supports Pixel Shaders 2.0
* 512mb RAM

Recommended
* Windows Vista / Windows 7 32bit/64bit
* CPU: Intel Core 2 Duo @ 3.2ghz or better
* GPU: 8600gt or better
* 1gb RAM (2gb if on Vista / Windows 7)

The minimum can pretty much be ignored in this case, I have Intel Core 2 Duo @ 3 Ghz, 4 Gb RAM and a 8800GTX and I still get occasional lag in certain games mainly Valkyrie Profile 2 Silmeria but I have heard certain games are more demanding than this especially the final fantasy and god of war games and that valkryie is slightly buggy in the emulation side of things.

Your GPU and CPU are below the recommended specs and I would also consider getting more RAM as 1 Gb is cutting it really close and is below the recommended in vista and win 7, also your CPU doesn't support SSE4.1 which apparently made the emulation substantially smoother {or so I read on the forums}.

This is quite a good thread on their forums laying out what you can expect with your specs and suggestions for various speed hacks and such to make lower speced rigs run faster {be warned through it's 314 pages long and you may have to do some digging to find info relevant to you}, apparently Final Fantasy X is a very good benchmark for what kind of performance you can expect in more demanding games {if you have or can obtain a copy} it's worth firing it up to see what performance you get.
