how to connect to wifi at a shop

my daughter wants to connect to wifi at a spur.
She tried to connect, they gave her a password, but she cannot connect.
what must she do.

Win 7 home premium.

This is usually how it works.

That password is generally not the wifi password, the wifi is left unsecured and then there is like a proxy service.

You open that icon, which gives connection. show possible adsl [none] but wifi connection. must you not click connect there.

Yes open wifi connections, there should be an unsecured one named something like spur etc, connect, then open browser.
