So me and my wife decided we take too much sugar in tea and coffee. We both had 3 spoons in a "beker". So we started using half of that, but hell life is all bitter now. Isn't there an easier way?

don't move so fast...

take half a teaspoon away for a week or 2...

so week 1: 2 1/2 teaspoons
week 3: 2 Teaspoons
week 5: 1 1/2 Teaspoons
week 7 1 Teaspoon and so on

That how i managed to work...

Whats difficult is when no-one is with you then they keep throwing allot of sugar in your mug... thats a bit frustrating... and defies the whole excercise

Eagle Brand Sweetened Condensed Milk

6 cups whole milk
4 1/2 cups granulated sugar
1/2 vanilla bean

Heat milk and sugar in a heavy saucepan over medium-low heat with the vanilla bean, which has been split lengthwise, scraped with the back edge of a knife and added to the milk - seeds, pod and all. When the sugar is dissolved, raise the heat to medium-high and hold between a simmer and a boil, stirring occasionally, for about 1 hour. Be sure the milk doesn't stick to the bottom of the pan. The milk will thicken, turn beige, and darken to light tan.

Strain into a bowl and cool. The milk will have reduced to 4 1/2 cups. It will keep several weeks, covered, in the refrigerator.

I would substitute the Vanilla bean for Vanilla Essence... Put it in last... about 5ml's

Oh and Sorry Jacqvt for taking your thread OT...

Do you have a recipe for making fudge... The one they sell in shops in the containers, they also sell clusters in the same looking container.

I tried the nestle condensed milk fudge recipe but it was a flop....

Yes luckily I have someone with me on this. See, our baby is now 3 months old, and not sleeping good. I know I know they dont sleep much, but as from what we hear, they must sleep far more. Thats why wify is in on this.

maybe i must try that too as i have 3 sugars and a spoon of condensed milk in my tea.
Hell, and I thought I used a lot...:D

ah ok... i think i must give you a recipe for making your own condensed milk :)
With current milk prices is it really worth it? Or does it taste better?

Fudge is a very very tricky thing to master. Only fudge that is made in a microwave is a success most of the time. The type you make on a stove is difficult.

I am sure its worth it... but its all according to personal taste...

I prefer home made things... as it ALWAYS tastes better than store bought... just don't have the time always...

Cut sugar out, it's very bad for you. You will soon get used to coffee or tea without sugar and it does taste much better!

Thats my reason. I do suffer from insomnia from time to time, so maybe it'll help for that too.
