How to deal with the neighbor's cat?

So I've been having all kinds of hell with the neighbor's cat. It's a male, more than likely not neutered, coming into my yard and attacking my much smaller neutered female cat.

At least twice a day it comes in and charges my cat, resulting in a lot of screeching, hissing and fur flying everywhere. Then at night the little **** comes into my house with the same agenda. I'm getting very tired of getting woken up at 3 in the morning to a cat fight in my kitchen. My cat never leaves the yard. The one and only time my cat was in their yard was when she tried to catch a hadida and it ended up flying her into their yard, because she's a little bit on the stupid side and didn't let go.

Last night, again in the most hellish time to get woken up, it clawed a large gash right through my cat's ear, pissing out blood everywhere.

Talking to them about it had zero impact. I'm at my wits end, very worried about my cat's safety.

I'm starting to eyeball my co2 pistol and my trigger finger is getting very itchy. Does anybody have any alternative ideas?

I'd advocate this only cause it's my natural go-to for animals. Tell your neighbors to do something or else if it comes into your home again you'll do it yourself.

Get a water gun , one of those big ones that you find in the kids section in stores .
A couple of encounters where it ends up soaked normally works and it will avoid your yard .

We bought a cheap water pistol from builders (one of those that screws into a 2l water bottle) to deal with cats coming in and bullying the SO's cat.

Any time we see one of the trouble cats they get a blast of water.

Seems to be doing the trick.

Two-step. You'll probably just have to help it back over the wall :whistling:

This. Add some vinegar / garlic / chilli if plain water doesn't convey the message.

Buy some cloudy ammonia and spray your walls with it after each rainfall.
Put some watered down into a spraygun and use that on the cat each time you see it.

Will avoid the yard very quickly.

Place bowls/plastic tubs (the KFC coleslaw tubs are perfect for this) of water all along the wall. The cat won't be able to put his feet on a dry spot and will freak out. He'll soon learn that this wall is not an awesome place to be. You need to put them really close together.

The water gun idea works as well, but, unless you're planning on making the cat extremely ill, do not add garlic, chili or pepper to the water gun. This is highly toxic to cats and you run the risk of your girlie licking some of it and making herself sick.

You can make a solution of vinegar, water and orange essential oil and spray it around the outside and along the top of of the wall. The smell drives them away. Tea tree oil also works for this.

If you live in a complex, go and make a complaint to the body corporate about the neighbours not doing anything about their cat.

had the same issue years ago with a anal retentive neighbour that built a cattery in her back yard to rescue all the stray cats! :wtf:

so these shiits would mate on my house roof at night. called the municipality and they recommended I hire a cat trap from them and first INFORM the neighbourhood - in writing - that I will be trapping stray cats and handing them over to the pound.

that solved the problem for a while. then she finally moved (lost the house due to non payments) however there were still a few strays running around at night. in desperation one night I found my 800 000v zap stick had an amazing effect on both cats & dogs! just the mere sound that 800 000 volt spark made was enough to scare the cats shiitless and I never saw them again!!! as for barking dogs - they shut up instantly when they heard the zap stick!

all I had to do was open a window - shove the zap stick in the air and press the button and the cats disappeared instantly off my house roof! problem solved without harming any animals!

I thought you said you hated animals but would never harm them?

As a last and desperate resort. From what OP provided it seems as he hasn't approached the neighbors yet. That's why I said he should speak to them first.

Get a pitbull. Problem solved.

Or invite pitbull over for dinner.
