Yes you do, preferably before you go to apply for your PR. Then you will save a lot of money by not making use of attorneys and can do 90% of the process yourself. Although, the expat community in Panama is massive and you are likely to communicate in English most of the time, or in my case, in Afrikaans when I visited and met a large number of Saffer families who already settled across Panama. Then again, the Panamanians are probably one of the most friendly and helpful people I have met. So, speaking to them in their language may just be beneficial to you.

What real influence can he actually have though? I mean, I don’t see him pocketing millions from dodgy tenders, destroying any SOEs, looting banks or running municipalities into the ground.

Surely that’s what has us on the path to implosion?
R13... can be safely ignored. He is part of the ANC myBB brigade. For them the ANC is doing just fine. Trying to reason with any of them, is a complete waste of time. The shite situation of Eskom, SABC, SAA etc etc, is only white man's propaganda. Zimbabwe is a success story if it were not for bad publicity. Go figure.

Step 1 - Vote the ANC in to power
Step 2 - Keep the ANC in power
Step 3 - Burn everything to the ground because the ANC is ruining your country
Step 4 - Keep the ANC in power

I blame the majority electorate for a lot of what has gone wrong in SA due to their ignorance, apathy and continued blind support of a failed government.
No, is not their fault. I blame Darwin.

Of course they don't make sense......... to you.
Rational people responded, going as far as to ridicule the 2 points. Of course you're always going to take the other side no matter how ridiculous it sounds.

All depends what your benchmark for failure is. Some think Zim isnt a failure. Others think the US is a failure... Ill go with how does the present compare to last decade.

How to destroy a country?
Step 1: Price controls
Step 2: Sieze private property
Step 3: Print money, lots of it.

Any of those in any order.

I'm interested in what things he is wrong about. I also only see doom and gloom so could do with some positives.
Yeah I don't know. So far he's been pretty positive and only pointing out the raw facts. Seems some people can't handle that.

The ANC currently has no other option but to collapse the economy. It can no longer be fixed. Unfortunately for them, they also found that this is not a fast and easy task to do. Nonetheless, they are on the right path.

All I can say is that each and every person who do not want to live in poverty and oppression should ensure that that they have a second passport or at least permanent residency elsewhere so that they can flee the day when this is needed. It is not expensive, just be sure that you have around R80k if you are single or around R130k for a family of any size. This will at least buy you permanent residency when needed and you will get most of it back when the residency is issued.

Where the hell would you buy residency for R80k? Brasil?

So you drop that R150k for two people, standing in the airport of a foreign country, with nowhere to go.

Half a bar plus a job lined up, is more like it.

For how long...

SA has been in a slow decay for years. Like a carcas left outside slowly rotting away.

Its little things like more trash on the streets , a beggar at every traffic light, facebook posts about x or y family needs help as they have been evicted, service protests, side paths not being maintained, government buildings and gardens not being maintained, pot holes in major cities, no or bad service at government departments, List goes on and on.

Bigger items too.. violence against woman and children, rape, corruption , CIT heists, load shedding, sewerage into our dams, government debt and budget shortfalls that are astronomical.

Looking daily, you dont notice it, but look back 15 years. Think of how you thought of other african countries 15 years back and tell me that is not what the rest of the world sees.
