Recently we moved to Hertzogville in the Freestate, after a month we decided to get adsl only to find out that there is no infrastructure in our area. We later on went to the 2012 RAGE Expo where an Telkom Agent approached us and said that ADSL will be available in our area later that year with a good deal on packages.

To our "surprise" there was still no effort from Telkom about ADSL in our area. We later on learned that 80% of people from Hertzogville phoned Telkom to get ADSL support and a consulted told them to get more people interested. Now we're planning to make a list of every person who who wants ADSL at the end of February.

How big does this list have to be to get Telkoms attention?
If the list is big enough where do we send it?
Will this even work?

Any ideas will be helpful

if 10 people live there and 8 wants ADSL, then 80% yes... but its still 10 people with no real profit showing if Telkom does do that.

Getting a list together would be good, I'd escalate this/send this to the network planners/their bosses. call center agents dont make notes on the demand in an area

You should have taken internet connectivity into account when you moved houses.
Honestly, you should look into moving elsewhere

Unfortunately I have to agree. I moved into the same trap - estate agent said there's ADSL in the area, only to discover that my neighborhood is new and Telkom has not yet put down infrastructure. It is now 3 years later and there's still nothing. My request is still open!

Go and look at wireless options...

This should be a sticky in the forum and on every second billboard in the country.

Took Telkom 2 years to get set up when I bought a place in a newly developed area.

When I moved again now I confirmed with the agent, neighbours and Telkom that ADSL was definately available otherwise I wouldn't sign the offer.
