Hi.

I'm using a Nokia N70 to surf the Net via 3G which works really well.

I also occassionally need to connect to work to check email, etc. I currently use a landline with RAS to dial-in.

I spoke to our IT guys and they informed me that I would need to get my sim card provisioned for VPN via my service provider, to be able to connect via RAS using my cellphone.

When I mentioned this to my MTN SP, they didn't really know what I was talking about

Any ideas on how I go about getting this done and the costs involved in this?

Thanks for the info.

I contacted MTN Technical support (1555) and they advised that this service is free at the moment but only for contract users.

The setup is done on the service provider's side so no set up on my side required.

24 hours after requesting this service you would be able to use it.

Hopefully you're on contract. ;) I think on your side you'd have to change your apn setting but that's all.

Yep that is correct. You can use it for browsing too but only 1 hickup I've come accross is that some https sites dont open for instance mtnactive wont open with it.
