Also have a mole problem - currently trying the gastoxin.

They dig up moulds in front lawn, sidewalk outside my wall, and in the back garden :(.

You have my deepest sympathy :(

Sonic repellers seem to work best judging by posts in this thread (assuming you don't have dogs like mine that chew them up :)).

I do have dogs, but haven't tried the repellers (yet).

The gastoxin seems to be doing okay - down from about 8 heaps yesterday inside my property, to 1 this morning. Didn't use it outside my property.

Solar Moler work perfectly for me. I have on on each side of the property. Just had to move the one as a new mole came in from the side by the neighbours. Gone already.

I see that sustainable.co.za no longer seems to have them on their website...

Going to give this a go. I've tried just about everything without luck.

There are 2 ways that I've gotten rid of moles:

1. Dig a mole trap - find a regular run, do this by squashing a few points on the surface tunnels. If a squashed area is pushed up again, dig a hole there making sure to keep the 2 tunnel entrances intact. Sink a bucket into the whole so that the rim is just below the floor of the the tunnel. Cover the Tunnel opening with loose soil and put a mat over the bucket (I used on of those cheap rubber car mats). If you've done it correctly check the next morning and you'll have a mole. You can then release it where ever you want.
This option may not be feasible if it a constant problem.

2. Seaweed Extract - I've seen people mention fish and this may be the same principle. I did this by chance, I decided to make the most of a bad situation and use the mole tunnel to help distribute fertiliser and poured a bucket of seaweed extract mixed with water down the hole. Mole stuffed off. I pretty sure it didn't drown, because I'd pumped far more than a bucket down there in previous attempts to get rid of it.

Caterquip in Okovango park brackenfell had stock last month for R230 I think. Note they only accept cash. No problems at the back anymore, but cannot get one for the front as it will be stolen.

Eiish. First pic is yesterday afternoon, shortly after I jammed the noise thingus into the mole run. You can see that the mole was not impressed with this device and just carried on....

So I opened up the run and added a QuickPhos for good measure. Things were quiet until around lunch time today and I thought the beast had succumbed to the QuickPhos. Until I had a look in between rain showers, a few minute ago.....

Dog and I are are now staying indoors until I can figure out where my wife has hidden the shotgun.

:D ... sorry I've got tears in my eyes from laughing.

Just love the bemused look on your dogs face, my two would have shredded the solar moler and excavated the mound by now.

... have to wonder at the size of the critter that threw up that pile though - do you reckon a shotgun will do the job?

guess we all had this at one stage in our lives.

my neighbour told me of a trick to rid my garden of this pest.

very early in the morning go sit by a fresh hole and open it - wait for mole to come and close hole again - take a pellet gun and shoot the mole dead - leave dead mole in hole and cover up ( this is the crucial part) - the smell of it's rotting body will permeate through the tunnels and drive off any other moles.

tried his trick and I've never had a mole in my yard since!

Haha, dog has been instructed to refrain from digging. I think that is a "I could have told you that thing won't work" look.

I came across the corpse of one of this mole's relatives a few days ago, while out walking. Its teeth are longer than those of the dog.

Btw a tip. After connecting the battery to the buzzer stuff some tissue paper down the pipe or else you can hear the buzzer above ground every 30 seconds. Works just as well with the paper in it just muffles the above ground sound substantially.

Give it a bit of time, the mole isn't going to like it.

Is it also a 1 second buzz sound ever 30 seconds?
