Give it a bit of time, the mole isn't going to like it.

Is it also a 1 second buzz sound ever 30 seconds?

Seems to be every 20 seconds or so. This is an older device, has an electric motor spinning a weight against a casing, much like a bicycle bell.

I have a new mole. Sadly it is Solar Moler immune.

May have to try the car exhaust trick ...

Not good news

... mind you, maybe it's been deafened by someone trying to finish it off with a shotgun in which case you can sneak up on an active mound and frenziedly stab it with a garden fork :)

So my new mole is a smart fecker. I have two solar molers and he had three routes.

THIS IS AN ARMS RACE!

Well well well ...

This new mole didn't care about my Solar Molers. Invading from the neighbours side, expanding into my lawn. And of course fecking it up.

My two young male cats have sensed him weeks ago and have been parking on and digging into the lawn for weeks.

Got woken up this morning by my housemate to remove whatever critter they carried in today.

It was the mole!

I released him other side of the road against a nature reserve.

It was interesting handling him, very powerful, active and well padded in thick fur. Tried to pick him up in padded tissue paper and he slashed through that in seconds. Plastic bag also slashed. Carried him in a thick fabric bag.

Second time my cats dug one out.

My dogs brought one into the house in the weekend - already dead though.

Got a tip from a landscaper this week which I am trying. There is a plant known as the "mole plant" (Euphorbia lathyris) which repels moles apparently.

Note it is poisonous. As I have cats that chew on anything I am planting them on the sidewalk so they can't get to it.

It's not going to help with the new mole coming in from the neighbours but it will help against the other new mole coming in from the sidewalk.

Bought one today and realised I need a few more, so getting another 2 or 3 tomorrow. The ones at the nursery is small (10 cm) and goes for R35.

They'll grow to about a meter.

I plant ex-war mines in my garden. It is job creation as children in Africa run with tyres around them with magnets. They then pull towards the mines and dig them up.

A connection of mine brings them in and then I buy some and put them in my garden. The moles then realise that this Sharpvillwe environment is hostile and fak off.

You just need to bury them deep with a large opening so the ground doesn't blow up but just collapses. Instant grave, quite effective.

Needed to revive this thread. I got a mole problem. What was the best solution for them to leave my yard.

Have heard this as well. Sadly with a cat, Jack russel, and a Staffy I dont think were going to struggle with moles anytime soon :D

I had a huge problem with moles myself, my front yard is about 200m2

I was a bit over the top though, I paid my contractor R10 000 to dig 1m into the ground and fill the ground with 30cm of concrete rubble and then layed soil ontop of that.

Four years later and not one mole.

Park your car as close to the nearest hole as you can. Attach a length of old creepy crawly hose to the cars exhaust. Insert the other end of the pipe into the hole. Start the car and let the car idle for 10-15 minutes.
This method (repeated once a day) cleared a 1/2 hectar stand of all its moles in 2 weeks. The guy says he never had a problem after.
