These blind rats are busy wrecking my marriage. My wife spend a lot of time and money and the very little energy she has in the garden and now these spawn of satan has invaded my garden of eden. The worse are the dogs that go and dig open the tunnels and holes taking out all my wife's flowers and plants. including a very pretty orange flower that unleashed the beast when it was found chopped of just below the head.

I've tried mole repellent juices by it ain't working.

Only option I guess now is to try that ultra sound things that can send thunder from heaven.

The only problem is the stupid dog is going to destroy that too.

Hosepipe in hole, open tap. Wait with cricket bat/steel pole/massive cock/samurai sword and kill it.

What is the most lethal way, practically speaking, to get rid of the moles. Anyone know what poison or ingredients to use and can spray into the tunnels?

A link to the product will be appreciated

Cannot recall but it worked. I just used everything from the shed that displayed a skull and crossbones. Problem is you end up not knowing what worked.

Take about half of cup of HTH and put in the hole, then pour about half a cup of brake fluid down the hole.
Stuff the hole with newspaper quickly then run away
It worked for us.
I take no responsiblity for the above recommended solution.

That's not a bad idea but I would swop the brake fluid for vinegar. Should still produce plenty of chlorine gas but will break down quicker than brake fluid.

Awesome! But now how the hell do I stop my dog from getting involved.
My dogs only tackled/investigated it once, it snapped shut, they got a fright and they give it a wide berth now.
Each dog did have to have its own "lesson" though :giggle: .
If you are worried put a upside down bucket or something on top of it.

Thanks @Düber. I think that is EXACTLY what I am looking for. Know where the tunnels are. Gonna see if our local builders have and then plant it, start the braai, get the bamboo sticks..... Mole sosaties. Yummy!

And that is how COVID-19 started folks....

Lived here 36 years. Moles came and went year after year. All efforts seemed temporary. The fastest temporary fix was a sulphur-burning tube that you lit and put into a tunnel and cover with soil. An atrocious smell.

The next best fix for several years was my neighbours large cat

Then 8 years ago we realized that they had stopped coming. No idea why. We do have a daschund, maybe that puts them off

How deep did you burry the cat?

:giggle: Just as an aside, I used to have a more "humane" one before, it was a basically a tube with a one way trap door on either end, the mole would run in and be trapped.
I stopped using it after the second one bit me (they are horridly aggressive), but I used to release the moles outside the house of a person that owed me money, sweet revenge.

A 20kg monster. He would sit there for hours watching the mounds, then as one got a bit larger, creep forward and swipe his paw through the mound. The mole would fly out and he bit it on the neck. Lots of squealing and wriggling but the moles succumbed. I reckon he caught at least 12. He never ate the mole and lost interest after it died
