How to get TELKOM to fix exchange in Panorama, Cape Town

I created a petition for Telkom to improve the situation in Panorama - I have gathered a few signatures already. I will send it to them this week and thereafter repeatedly until they take action! Please sign it here:

The only thing we can do is to pressure them continually - as frequently and as publicly as possible. It has been a year and a half since we started battling with them and our connectivity is just getting worst every day.

If you have any email addresses or fax numbers of relevant contacts within Telkom, please post them as well!

After going all out with Telkom I have received feedback yesterday. “The new technology will be installed by 15 October 2013. Panorama mini exchange at curb. !!!! I was asked to inform all interested parties. I have a name and contact number at Telkom!

Is there any update on this. I work via cloud services in panorama and the line is forever dropping or slowing down to a snails pace?

Bugger all. Nothing has been happening with the Panorama/Parow exchange. My ADSL has been giving me endless problems and I feel sorry for my ISP who manages my line and has to put up with me phoning & emailing all the time to complain about Telkom. The feckers at Telkom just says 'there is nothing wrong with the line' and close whatever calls I open. It is ridiculous.

I happened on a Telkom page a few days ago (wish I bookmarked the link!) where you could query if your exchange was due for an upgrade in the next 6 months. Panorama/Parow is not featuring at all Bothasig was upgraded, why can't they upgrade Panorama? I am sick of paper cup and string internet

I had a Telkom Tech here last week to rewire my whole house and he said Fibre for Panorama has been approved and will be installed this year. He said I will then be able to get around the 20MB. I HOPE THIS IS TRUE!!!

Ok, so fibre is all good and well, but then that means I will have to change my ISP package right?

The problem here is that it has been over 4 years (and longer for others) who had to pay for a high-speed line and end up only being able to use a low speed one.

Telkom - I want my 10MB synch'd line - I have given you enough time to resolve and it needs to be resolved...!

I stopped to ask and they said they're laying Fibre cables, not sure where or how many MSANs/local switches will be deployed in the area.. so I'm not getting my hopes up for 20/40Mbps; would just like stable 10Mbps atleast.

I can also cope with 10 even a stable 4, seen the bricks and cable roll will stop there sometime and inspect the cable

Anyone see any improvement in your line speed? I see that I am now synch'ng at 3072Kbs downstream and 507kbs upstream. I was synch'ng at 2048 on my 10mb line. So at least a little bit of an improvement!

Apparently the fibre they were laying was for business only with residential fibre being later on. Don't know when!

Anyone have any updates on this? I mean it is only 3 years later!

*weeps* WTB fibre! Still a crap connection after all this time and even if it is a necro thread, things are not really better. I have found no indication that Panorama FTTH is featured on anyone's fibre capability list.

doing LOS tests currently.Eks gatvol verby.to add to the crap line, when eksdom pulls its no power tricks my dsl alltough on long life ups dies 2 minutes after load shed started.
Have dialtone but no sync, Telkom have no idea what will cause that
